This Oribe ware is created by adding 5% copper to transparent glaze containing feldspar, straw ashes and wood ashes as the base materials. The white surface has a traditional yet original and celebratory design, known as Hare ware, using iron brushwork called Tetsue. It's shaped like Kagamimochi, mirror-shaped rice cakes to create a stylish yet charming appearance. This traditional sized ware has been made since the Momoyama period and is perfect for both Japanese and European dishes. Serve it with small appetizers or dessert.
