■What is Zazen?

There are many ways to practice zazen, a form of meditation. The Soto sect, one of Japan’s zen Buddhist groups that practices zazen, meditates to be ‘Mushin’, or ‘to have an empty mind’.
This means to be assimilated into nature as stars floating in the universe.
We don’t know the names of the weeds in the garden, they never worry about anything.
Rocks on the roads never get angry.
Stop your thoughts as a human and remove stains in your mind that come from various emotions in your daily life.
If you do that, your everyday life will become calm and peaceful.

■What is ‘Zabu’?

‘Zabu’ is a kind of cushion used to sit at Zazen. It makes your posture stable and lightens the burden on your low back from practicing zazen for a long time.
The firmness of the Zabu you receive is set up for the weight of 55 kilograms
Adjust the firmness of the Zabu by putting the cotton in the opening next to the tag and check if its comfortable to sit on.
Practitioners of Zen have their own zabu and they go to the training and practicing dojo with it.

Your own zabu would walk on the path to a peaceful mind with you.

■Sit on the clouds

The name of this zabu is ‘Unjoza’
It means to meditate on the clouds.
It’s always sunny above the clouds even if it’s raining below.
We can feel cheerful and refreshed again by taking time to sit on this zabu when we are having a hard time (meaning the rain). Unjoza is named after this wish.

■Attached good luck charm

Many Japanese people have Omamori, or 'good luck charms,’ with them every day.
We believe that good luck charms have the power to save us from troubles such as traffic accidents, give us victory in sports, and make our wishes come true.
Therefore, we take care of them very carefully.
The attached good luck charm in the same pattern as your zabu has the soul of Buddha.
You can carry it every day or you can hang it on the wall for meditation.
Please take care of it very carefully.
