This Oribe sake cup, known as Guinomi, is created by adding 5% copper to transparent glaze containing feldspar, straw ashes and wood ashes as the base materials. The white surface has a traditional yet original and celebratory design, known as Hare ware, using iron brushwork called Tetsue. The cylindrical shape, known as Tsutsu-gata, is commonly used during the winter as the tall shape keeps your sake or drinks warm.
