This Oribe ware is created by adding 5% copper to transparent glaze containing feldspar, straw ashes and wood ashes as the base materials. The white surface has a traditional yet original and celebratory design, known as Hare ware, using iron brushwork called Tetsue. It has a tortoise shell shape with a tortoise shell pattern. This traditional sized ware has been made since the Momoyama period and is perfect for both Japanese and European dishes. Serve it with small appetizers or dessert.
